Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours for seeing patients?

My hours for seeing patients are flexible and are primarily during weekday evenings but can include some Saturday mornings.

Can appointments be done via telehealth?

Yes! I often do visits over telehealth, but you do need to be physically located in the state of Ohio right now.

Do you take insurance?

I am not currently in network for any insurance company and am considered an out of network provider. There are several reasons why I choose not to take insurance right now. Without going through insurance, I ensure that your privacy is maximized. It also allows me the flexibility to practice psychiatry holistically without bureaucratic guidelines from insurance. I'm also able to see patients for longer if I don't rely on insurance for reimbursement of my services.

I would bill you automatically on your credit card after your appointment on the day the appointment occurs and then send you a superbill, which is similar to a receipt, that you can send to your insurance company to submit a claim for my services. Depending on your out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse you for some or all of what you paid for. It can, though, take 2-6 weeks to receive reimbursement. Please click here to download a document that shows you how to do that.

I understand that paying out of pocket can be difficult for some, and I want to work with you to make mental health treatment affordable and accessible. Follow-ups are scheduled with both your needs and financial situation in mind. I do, though, view mental health treatment as an important investment for your overall well-being.

What can I expect in the first appointment?

To set up an initial appointment, please call or text me at 513-960-6526 with your name and email address to request an initial appointment. I'll respond within 1-2 business days with some open days and times. Once we've decided on the date and time, I will send you a calendar invite for that appointment through my secure online email account as well as a link to the new patient forms and an invitation to use Spruce, which is a secure communication app. These forms include my office policies, consent to treat, good faith estimate of the cost for appointments, privacy information and credit card authorization form. Please click here to download a copy of the new patient forms. I will have you fill out these forms online at least 24 hrs prior to your appointment. If they are not complete 24 hours prior to the appointment, our appointment will be cancelled and need to be rescheduled.

Expect the first appointment to be 90 minutes long. I will ask you a lot about your symptoms, your life history, and other important details that will be relevant to your care. I also may recommend some lab tests to ensure nothing medical is causing or contributing to your symptoms. At the end of the appointment, we will come up with a preliminary treatment plan that might include medication, lifestyle, and/or supplement recommendations, labs, and/or psychotherapy. This plan can be revised as we go along.

Please note that I do not provide disability evaluations, worker's compensation evaluations, forensic evaluations, emotional support animal evaluations, or provide legal services or testimony.

Do you take Medicaid or Medicare patients?

Unfortunately, right now, I cannot see Medicaid or Medicare patients.
